Basic First Aid CPR & AED 

This Heartsaver First Aid course provides training in basic first-aid procedures including the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA. This course is designed to prepare people to provide CPR or first-aid in a safe, timely, and effective manner. It is suitable for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first-aid, CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory or other requirements.

The training needs to be taken every 2 years.

You can study the AHA Basic First Aid CPR & AED course by attending a one-day classroom course in Bahrain or Dubai led by our expert first-aid trainers, or we can arrange to run the course at your company's premises.

Course Content

The American Heart Associations's Basic First Aid CPR & AED course covers the following topics:

  • First-aid basics.
    • Rescuer duties.
    • Victim and rescuer safety.
    • Phoning for help.
  • Medical emergencies.
    • Breathing problems.
    • Choking.
    • Heart attacks.
    • Diabetes and low blood sugar.
    • Strokes.
    • Seizures.
    • Shock.
  • Injury emergencies.
    • Bleeding.
    • Wounds.
    • Head, neck and spine injuries.
    • Fractures and sprains.
  • Environmental emergences.
    • Snakebites.
    • Insect, bee and spider bites and stings.
    • Temperature-related emergencies.
  • CPR and AED.
    • Adult, child and infant CPR.
    • AED demonstration.
    • Adult and child choking.

Assessment

The American Heart Association's Basic First Aid CPR & AED course is assessed by a written and practical assessment. You will complete the assessment at the end of your course.

Successful delegates are awarded a certificate from RRC Middle East which is valid for 2 years.
