NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management 

The NEBOSH National Diploma in Environmental Management has been designed for individuals with responsibilities for the management of environmental risk or who are aiming to develop and implement effective environmental management systems within their organisations.

The NEBOSH Environmental Diploma provides a detailed understanding of environmental risk management, including control strategies and civil liability under UK law. The course is ideal for:

  • Safety professionals who are taking on environmental responsibilities.
  • Those looking to move into safety, health and environmental consultancy. 

You can study the NEBOSH Environmental Diploma by attending a classroom course in London, or by e-learning with unlimited help and support from our expert NEBOSH trainers - a great option for those who need to fit studying around other commitments.

The NEBOSH Environmental Diploma allows you to use the letters "EnvDipNEBOSH" after your name. It also meets the requirements for Associate Membership of IIRSM and Associate Membership of IEMA.

    • Civil Liability in Relation to Environmental Pollution
    • Solid and Liquid Wastes
    • Gaseous and Particulate Releases to Atmosphere
    • Control Strategies for Environmental Risk
    • Control of Environmental Nuisance
    • Hazardous Substances
    • Environmental Implications of Development and Land Use
    • Energy Use and Efficiency
  • Unit ED2: Application of Environmental Risk Theory and Practice 

Entry Requirement

Some prior knowledge of the English legal system is recommended.

Assessment

Unit ED1 of the NEBOSH Environmental Diploma is assessed by a three-hour written exam. Unit ED2 is assessed by a workplace-based practical assessment.
